In brief, you should know the following about us: Our Department was established in 1976 and had been responsible for providing outstanding Fire and EMS Service ever since.

Our Department is located about 5 Miles out of Bellaire on State Route 147 at 53890 Key Bellaire Road, Bellaire Ohio 43906.

At this time we have in our Fleet 2 ALS Squads 1 BLS Squad a 4X4 Rescue Truck, Pumper, and a Tanker.

We Service Pultney Township and any surrounding Departments that may be in need of assistance.    

Also during the bad weather and Power outages we work with Belmont County EMA and Local church to become a shelter. We have generator hook up to have power and heat in the building during these outages. 

At this time we are 22 members strong. We continue to keep growing.   

We are always looking for good people who like to help their community. You do not have to be a Fire Fighter or EMT to join there something for all to do. Applications to join can be picked up at the Station or printed off from above Link.

We run a paid EMS Crew from 8-4 Monday thru Saturday. We run ALS and BLS personal.

MEDICARE DOES NOT PAY FOR WHEELCHAIR TRANSPORTS

Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMN)

A transport is considered scheduled if the call is placed at least 24 hours in advance.

Medically necessary non emergent Squad Transports must be Bed Confined or in need of oxygen, need of special equipment, procedures or medical monitoring during Transport in order to be cover by Medicare/Medicaid.

The signature on the CMN can be from the attending Physician. Or other trained health care professional but only if they are allowed to sign for the Physician and are good for the time frame listed on the CMN.

No CMNs are needed for Emergency Calls.

SKILLED NURSING HOME PAYMENT PLAN

Skilled Nursing Home with 100 Day Part A Medicare Patients, are billed direct by Spirit of 76 Fire/EMS for Ambulance Transports which are part of the patients Care Plan. This includes Dr office Appointments.

SPIRIT OF 76 FIRE/EMS BILLING POLICY :

Spirit of 76 Fire/EMS will not refuse to Transport any patient in an Emergency Situation because of the Level of Insurance coverage or lack of.

Most Private Insurance and coverage such as Medicare and Medicaid will cover medically necessary emergency and non-emergency ambulance transportation. If a patient has coverage Spirit of 76 will file a claim to the patients insurance, It is important to provide all coverage information at time of service or to the Billing Department as soon as possible after transport.

If a patient does not have coverage. The bill for services will be responsible of the patient. Payment may be due before transport is done.The Spirit of 76 will accept personal check, Visa or Master Card.
